Finishing Class:

By the end of these 2 sessions, you will have all the tools and knowledge necessary to sew your garments together as well as the professionals. 

First Class: Seaming, Kitchener Stitch, Three Needle Bind-off and a brief overview of short rows.

Second Class: Once you have learned last week’s techniques, bring in the garments that have been lying around in your "basket" waiting to be finished and we'll get them on the way to finished! They might make great Christmas presents.

I-Cord Edged Baby Alpaca Scarf: 1 day workshop

A simple elegant scarf with lovely details. Learn I-cord cast-on, slip-stitch rib formation, and I-cord edging, making a structured corded border on all sides. Participants must know knit and purl.

Christmas Stocking:

Make your own heirloom stockings that your friends and family will cherish. And learn to turn a heel to boot! A great way to start on sock knitting. Participants must know knit and purl.

Fun easy “painting” with dyed fleece roving and special needles. Using old blanket felt, we will make lovely gifts: Potholders, wall hangings, belts, you name it! No experience necessary.

Bandana Cowl: 1 day workshop

Quick and easy intro to short rows, aka “wrap and turn”. A handsome man came into the shop wearing this one day, and we all needed one. The COWL, if not the man. Very easy to wear. Participants must know knit and purl. Over 6,000 made on Ravelry!

Toe-up 2-at-a-time Socks on ONE circular needle:

You want to make socks but are put off by double pointed needles and that boring second sock? Finally, help is on the way. Make them at the same time on one circular needle. It’s a glove, it’s a mitten! No, it’s MITTGLO! No, not really.

It is the ever popular Flip-top Mitten, with a fingerless glove underneath a mitten sleeve that flips over the fingertips, or back. So cool, and lots of new skills: How to make a thumb, how to make fingers, how to graft on the mitten flap. Participants must know knit and purl.

Pop Blanket: (with great design tweaks by Nancy)

We can’t get enough of this fantastic “poppy” blanket. Learn pin-hole cast-on, increasing, short rows, and seaming. We now have lovely Multicolored washable Liberty wool. Perfect for a very functional throw. Participants must know knit and purl, and have some experience with double-pointed needles.
