Fiddlehead Mittens!
Yes, Stacie is still teaching these classic mittens - seriously, everyone who walks in the shop seems to want them! There will be lots of discussion about yarn dominance, sizing, yarn options, and the I-cord cast on.
We've recently revamped this class a bit to include more in-person instruction time to make all our students as successful as possible.
Please note: This is NOT a class to learn to knit with DPNs or Magic Loop. You must be comfortable with either technique prior to signing up.
For class, you will need:
- A copy of the pattern (available HERE on Ravelry)
- Sport or DK-weight yarn for the outer mitten; 125 yds main color, 40 yds each of 5 contrast colors
- 140 yards of a lining yarn (we recommend Tynn Silk Mohair from Sandnes Garn)
- US size 3, 4, or 5 needles (depending on the size mitten you are making), DPNs or a long circular for magic loop
- A bit of waste yarn
- Darning needle for finishing
- A can-do attitude!
A minimum of 3 students is needed for this class to run - bring a friend! Class size is limited to 6 people.
