Registration deadline for this class is Monday, October 5th. In-person class will meet in the evening on Wednesday, October 27th.
You asked for it and here it is... Learn to Steek!!
Exclusive to this class, our own steeking superhero, Stacie, is designing a simple two-color, stranded, colorwork sweater for little ones.
Why a baby sweater? Because they're quick to knit, of course!
Once you're registered, and as soon as the pattern is finalized (expected around the last week of September), you will receive the sweater pattern for the class.
You have until the in-person class meeting to knit it up - you'll have at least 3 weeks to get it done so don't stress about that part.
Bring the sweater with you to class where you will learn how to stabilize a steek, cut your work, and pick up for the button bands.
The sweater is designed for 2 colors of fingering or sport weight, non-superwash wool. (That non-superwash part is important!) The pattern details how much you need of each color.
There are six seats available for this class.
Class will be held in-person, indoors, when the shop is closed for regular business.
All of our instructors are vaccinated and we request that those signing up for classes be as well.
Masks are required for all in attendance.
Students must know how to: cast on, knit, purl, work in the round, execute stranded colorwork, increase stitches, and read a simple pattern/chart.
*enough NON-SUPERWASH wool yarn in fingering or sport weight to make the sweater *One main color (MC) and one contrasting color (CC), preferably in lighter, easy to see colors *needles required to get pattern gauge (somewhere between US size 1 & 5, depending on yarn weight and your gauge) *stitch markers *darning needle
