This is a great introduction to brioche knitting and includes 2 different projects!
Class participants will first learn the beginning basics of brioche knitting while make a cute twisted headband (knit flat).
The second project is the Cushiest Cowl, a two-color brioche cowl designed by Nancy Marchant (knit in the round). The cowl will build on the skills learned with the headband, introducing brioche knitting with two colors in the round.
Students will learn:
- one and two colored brioche stitch
- brioche knitting both flat and in the round
- all the interesting abbreviations involved when knitting a brioche pattern!
Materials Needed:
Headband with a Twist by Mirella Moments
Pattern will be provided but can also be found on Ravelry if you wish to download it.
Yarn: 50 grams of DK/light worsted weight yarn
Needles: US size 4 16" or 24" circular
Notions: tapestry needle, scissors
Cushiest Cowl by Nancy Marchant (in the MDK Field Guide No 21 Brioche)
Pattern book is included as part of class cost
Yarn: worsted weight in two contrasting colors - approximately 145 yards each
Needles: US size 6 24" circular needle
Notions: stitch marker, tapestry needle, scissors
