Flicker-ing Brioche
When this sample arrived we couldn't contain our excitement and knew we needed to add it to the Fall class roster!
A rectangular scarf, constructed with brioche stitches, the Flicker Scarf is worked like stockinette instead of the classic ribbed look of traditional brioche.
The yarn does most of the work on this project! You'll use 2 skeins of Carmen from Gusto Wool - a yarn that is dyed to create rythmic "stripes" throughout this project.
You'll learn:
- brioche knit and brioche purl
- techniques for keeping your project straight
You'll need:
- a copy of the Flicker Scarf pattern (available on Ravelry)
- 2 skeins of Carmen from Gusto Wool
- US size 4 needle (straight or circular)
- removable stitch marker/progress keeper
- darning needle (for weaving in ends when you're done)
- your can-do attitude and willingness to learn something new!

Her work is inspired by her Norwegian heritage, which has been passed down to her by generations of Norwegian grandmothers. She loves to continue to learn Scandinavian techniques and is currently learning the art of plukkband, weaving Nordic decorative bands that add the finishing touch to a traditional Norwegian kofte (cardigan). |
