Crochet 102 - Granny Squares

Granny squares are a versatile, classic crochet motif that can be used to create blankets, garments, accessories, and more.

 

In this class you will learn:

• how to create a granny square from the center out, using fundamental crochet techniques
• various granny square patterns including traditional solid and multicolored squares
• the techniques for joining granny squares together to create larger projects

 

There will be plenty of time to ask your questions and get help on any issues you may come across! Marisa will also discuss customizing granny squares to your liking and inspiration for adding them in to various projects.

 

By the end of this class, you'll have the skills and confidence to create beautiful granny squares and incorporate them into your own unique crochet projects. 

 

You should be familiar with making a foundation chain and basic crochet stitches before signing up for this class. If you've taken Learn to Crochet with us, this is your perfect, next-step class!

 

You'll need a size H crochet hook and worsted weight yarn for this class. Homework will be required in between classes to advance your skills.
