Sunshine Coast KAL
Leslie is hosting a "Sunshine Coast" Knit-A-Long!
This great Heidi Kirrmaier pattern has been on Leslie's to-knit list for quite a while and is a great transitional sweater for cool summer nights and early fall days.
Heidi's patterns can seem intimidating at first glance but it's all about learning how to read them. Let's do that together! Once you know how to decipher her pattern style, you'll see how easy it is to follow along with all her very well written directions.
The KAL (knit-a-long) is free of charge but your materials MUST be purchased at Yarns in the Farms. Please register for your seat so we know how many people to expect.
Leslie will be using Zooey from Juniper Moon Farm. Other yarns to consider: Line from Sandnes Garn, Cotton Comfort from Green Mountain Spinnery, Spree from Berroco.
If you'd prefer to make a more cold-weather friendly version, we have plenty of DK weight wool and wool blends to choose from.
Materials needed:
- a copy of the pattern, found on Ravelry HERE
- size US 5 needles (or the size needed to obtain gauge)
- enough DK weight yarn to make your chosen size
- stitch markers
- darning needle
NOTE: This is a knit-a-long group project, as opposed to a class with instruction. Come make a beautiful sweater and hang out with other knitters while you do so!

| Instructor Bio: | Leslie is the owner of Yarns in the Farms as has been for over 8 years. If you didn't know that, it's because she prefers to be behind the scenes. She is an avid knitter, leaving her house in a mess, laundry not done, and an empty refrigerator. She really likes knitting sweaters (many of which live at the shop) and someday the socks for her sons-in-law will be finished. |
