What you will learn:

• Basic increases: discover several methods to add stitches to your work, including yarn-overs and directional increases. Learn when and how to use each to achieve your desired shape.

• Basic decreases: practice essential decreasing techniques such as knit two together (k2tog) and slip-slip-knit (SSK) to create crisp, clean edges and shapes

• Combining techniques: understand how to incorporate increases and decreases into a cohesive pattern, creating a textured and visually appealing washcloth.

• Pattern reading: gain confidence in following simple patterns and instructions that incorporate increases and decreases.

This class is ideal for beginner knitters who have mastered the basic knit and purl stitches and are ready to expand their skills. If you’re ready to challenge yourself and expand your skills, this class is for you!

Materials needed:

• US size 8 needles (straight or circular)

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in the color of your choice

• Stitch markers

• Tapestry needle

• A pattern will be provided for you at class
