Feeling "Jaunty"?

Have you run across Andrea Mowry's new "Jaunty" on Ravelry yet? We're obsessed!
This is one of those unicorn patterns that lets you pick out your yarn and an appropriate needle size and get to stitching. This is potato chip knitting at its finest (bet you can't knit just one!).
A shallow-triangle that's knit sideways in Half-Fishermen's Rib, once you get into the pattern this is about as meditative as knitting can be.
What will you learn?
- Half-Fishermen's Rib
- I-cord edges
- Grafting 2 i-cords together
What will you need for class?
- A copy of the pattern (available HERE on Ravelry)
- Some scrap worsted-weight yarn and US size 7 or 8 needles for practicing
- Your chosen yarn and needles for your "official" project
- Darning needle
- A way to keep track of your rows: paper & pen, row counter, etc.
- Some may find bulb stitch markers handy for this project
- Because this is a highly adjustable pattern, you may want a scale for weighing your yarn at home so you know when you've hit the half-way mark on YOUR project
- A can-do attitude!
In session 1, you'll make a small practice piece using your scrap yarn and needles so everyone is clear on the Half-Fishermen's Rib and how to do the increases & decreases in this project. Before you leave, you'll cast-on your chosen yarn and get started on your project.
Homework in between classes is to reach the half-way point of your shawl.
In session 2, we'll discuss tip, tricks, fixing any mistakes, and how to finish off your project. (The second meeting is the day Daylight Saving Time ends so be sure to come at the right time!)
We need a minimum of 3 students for this class to run - bring a friend! Class size is limited to 6 people.
Have yarn at home you've been dying to use but didn't know for what? This is a GREAT project for that. If you need yarn, we're happy to help you pick out just the right thing for you at the shop!
