Learn Latvian Braids

Join Louise to make the "Latvian Braids All Day Hat".
Louise's shop sample has garnered a lot of attention over the last few weeks - now's your chance to make your own.
This hat was designed to use up fingering weight leftovers (but would work equally well in sport weight) and can be as vibrant or plain as you want.
What will you learn?
- Perfect your Latvian Braid technique!
- Color sorting for maximum impact
- Tips & tricks for making this hat
What will you need for class?
- A copy of the pattern (available HERE)
- Yarn - fingering or sport weight - 106 yards/23 grams of a main color and 153 yards/33 grams TOTAL of contrasting colors for the braids (about 4.5 yards per braid)
- US size 3 16" circular and double pointed needles
- Darning needle
- A can-do attitude!
Prior to session 1, please cast on and knit Row 1 of the pattern.
In session 1 (2 hours), you'll learn how to work a Latvian braid and how to make sure your braid colors POP! In session 2 (1 hour), you'll cover how to fix mistakes and general finishing tips for this lovely hat.
You may have scrap yarn you can use for this project at home but we can certainly help you pick out just the right main color or set you up with a Lanas Light Mini Kit for a sport weight version with already color coordinated braids.
We need a minimum of 3 students for this class to run - bring a friend! Class size is limited to 6 people.
