Knit Your Own Christmas Stockings!

We know not everyone is thinking about the December holidays yet but as crafters we've been thinking about them for months!
If you've been contemplating knitting stockings for your loved ones, this is a great class to learn the hows and whys of stocking making and construction. Make one of these and then transfer your skills to whatever pattern you wish!
This is a choose-your-own-adventure style class so you can pick from one of these three patterns:
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3
Stacie has chose these 3 patterns by Cindy Steinberg so everyone will be using the same construction and techniques while making stockings that are unique to them. Each stocking is approximately 11" in circumference and 24" long.
What will you learn?
- Stranded Knitting
- Short Row Heel
- Grafting the Toe
- Adding a Name Using Duplicate Stitch
What will you need for class?
- A copy of your chosen pattern (this links under each picture will take you to the Ravelry page for that design)
- One skein each of the 3 colors you want for your stocking - we recommend using Ultra Wool or Ultra Wool Chunky depending on how robust you want your finished stocking to be
- US size 6 & 8 needles for knitting in the round (short circulars, double pointed, or long circulars for magic loop)
- Darning Needle
- Stitch Markers
- A can-do attitude!
In session 1, you'll get started on your stocking and dive into stranded knitting.
In session 2, you'll cover the short row heel construction.
In session 3, you'll talk about grafting the toe and adding on a name at the top.
We've spaced these sessions out two weeks apart so everyone has time to finish their homework and knit to the next step before getting together again.
We need a minimum of 3 students for this class to run - bring a friend! Class size is limited to 6 people.
We request that you purchase your yarns, needles, etc. at Yarns in the Farms for this class. Mention you're enrolled in class and receive a 10% discount on your materials.
This is an Advanced Beginner/Intermediate class. You must know how to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, knit a small circumference in the round (either on DPNs - double pointed needles - or using the Magic Loop technique), increase, and decrease.
