Explore Intarsia - Patchwork Shawl

We've found it - just the right project to teach intarsia, a technique many of you have asked for over the years!
Originally a woodworking technique used to inlay different colored woods to create an image, intarsia (in knitting) is a colorwork technique where you create a large block of color within your work without carrying multiple strands of yarn at one time.
In this class, you'll make Aimee Gille's "Patchwork". Learn the lingo, how to create the individual intarsia blocks, and the ins and outs of managing your yarns as you go.
For class, you will need:
- A copy of the pattern (available HERE on Ravelry)
- 1 bundle of Woolstok Minis (total of 7 contrast colors) *they're on order and will be arriving shortly!*
- 1 50g skein of Woolstok (for contrast color 8)
- 2 50g skeins of Woolstok (for your main color)
- US size 6 needle; we recommend a 24" circular
- A way to contain your yarns - a bin, shoebox, etc.
- Darning needle for finishing
- Your best knitting scissors
- A can-do attitude!
In session 1, Elaine will guide you through planning your shawl, sorting your colors, setting up your yarn management, how to execute an intarsia twist, and the tips and tricks she learned from making her first one. Then you'll cast-on and get to knitting!
You'll head home to work on creating more squares during the week and then in session 2 you'll get answers to your questions, learns to fix any mistakes, and talk about weaving in all those ends.
A minimum of 3 students is needed for this class to run - bring a friend! Class size is limited to 6 people.
